Frequently Asked Questions

How Big Are The Class Sizes?
We teach on a private basis in very small classes. This is to maximise the self-growth of each individual and to allow students to progress at their own pace.

Do I Need Any Previous Martial Arts Experience?
No. Beginners and existing Martial Artists alike are equally welcome. All students succeed and progress on their own ability.

Have I Learned Everything When I Reach Black Belt?
Reaching Black Belt is really only the beginning. If you have the dedication to reach this advanced grade, the door may be opened to a new level of training as a member of the Delane Academy. Here accomplished martial artists learn directly from the Masters of the school, in an environment and at a pace designed specifically for advanced students.

Why This School?
As the school has grown in the UK our standards have been consistently raised. We have shunned the commercialism rampant in martial arts in the West, in favour of the spirit of excellence. Our aim is to provide high quality education and learning in a disciplined yet friendly environment.

How Often Should I Train?
For most students we normally recommend a one hour private lesson per week, although there is no limit to the amount of lessons you can have. The rate of growth and progression from a private lesson far exceeds that of the typical club lesson, where the attention of the instructor is divided between the other students. Most lessons will of course involve physical activity, but the emphasis in a private lesson is on education, allowing the student to further embed the lessons in his/her own “free practice” time.
